Hi,
I made a test to receive an email notification 2 days before a recurring payment, but nothing happens !
FYI, I receive other notifications from MainWP, so I guess this is not about SMTP problem.
Any idea ?

Hey @wordpressman
Have you verified that you have any recurring payments coming up in two days?
Can you please post the community system report from your MainWP Dashboard for review? The report is located in your Dashboard under Info ā Server, on the top right of the page.
Be sure to use the button like the one below; this button hides all your private information:
Pressing the button auto-copies the report to your clipboard then just paste it in a reply here.
Hi Bojan,
Yes, I created a reccurring payment to test it. I can retry this, meanwhile I send you my setting:

Thanks, @wordpressman.
In our previous tests, we didnāt encounter issues with the Cost Tracker notifications but will run some more tests.
Can you check if the Cost Tracker notification email is enabled in MainWP Settings and if the correct email address is set?
Hi Bojan,
Yes, the Cost Tracker email notification is enabled, and the email address is working.
Also, I have programmed a Cost Tracker test:
Normally, the notification should arrive today, because it is set to 2 days, so I will let you know if it finally works.
Iāll keep you posted ā¦
Thanks.
Hi Bojan,
I confirm that no email are triggered by the Cost Tracker. I never received anything ā¦
Thanks in advance to to keep helping with that problem.
In cases like this itās always good to check the whole process step by step. First step is to check if the emails are actually send by your website. You can use a plugin like:
This plugin both logs the outgoing emails from your website and gives you the possibility to send a test email to make sure your website can successfully send emails.
If emails are successfully sent, but still not received, have your host check the logs to see if they came back for some reason or maybe didnāt leave the server at all.
Thanks Jos,
In fact, I receive all the other mails sent by MainWP, so, the problem must be somewhere else ā¦
Thatās good to know, but the log can at least help to check if the email is being sent. Next step might be to determine if the cron job is working, that does the check and should send the email. Cron jobs (background tasks) often donāt get executed if thereās no traffic on the site. An uptime monitoring service like uptimerobot.com could help with that.
Thanks Jos. Youāre right then ! I installed the plugin and have set another cost that should trigger an email tomorrow.
Concerning the cron, Iām the only one visiting my MainWP website, so, obviously, there is not that much traffic. Do you think I should use āmanualā cron job on the server to trigger like every hours ? Or use a olugin like WP Control ?
If you want to use the WP Cron system, there should be traffic and uptimerobot.com can check your site automatically every 5 minutes, what should be enough to start cron jobs. You can also use a server cron, which is a bit more technical. I think A Deep Dive into WP-Cron: Enhancing Scheduler Efficiency in WordPress - MainWP WordPress Management is a good start to read about it.
Maybe a more direct cron job is available for the cost tracker, but I canāt help you with that, so in that case you should wait for an answer of support.
Hi Jos,
Ok, I follow your advice, and Iāve put my MainWP website under Uptime Robots checking every 5 mn . Letās see if that change something ! If that doesnāt give any help, Iāll try WP Control, hoping that 1 of those solution will help !
Than ks a lot for your advises ā¦
