V5.4 - Non MainWP changes approval gone & Hardening action gone too

I just checked and I found 0 requests for a different design etc. but many for functionalities and improvements of certain functions. V5 and beyond seem to be more of an it based and desire to change things (visually) than anything else, which in our world, just isn’t ideal. Change for change’s sake is seldom good …for anybody that actually uses it

And the voice system shouldn’t be about getting things corrected that went wrong with an update etc. It’s to plan a roadmap and what to do next, not what to fix because it’s broken or suddenly very different from what users have come to know/expected …

Hi @SuppY,
Can’t agree more! I did the same too yesterday, quickly check the voice system but can’t see anything related to those changes and to be honest, there is so many with different status that it is hard to understand where those requests status are! And also on good point on why voice is not for. Thank you for sharing your thought.

Thanks for your feedback. As mentioned earlier in the thread, some design changes were intentional, while others were necessary due to the transition from Gridster.js to Gridstack.js for handling layouts.

If something is an actual bug, meaning it’s broken or not working, we’ll fix it as soon as possible, if you find something you think is a bug add that in a separate thread so it can be tracked as a potential bug. But if it’s a design decision, that’s where the Voice feedback system comes into play.

As you pointed out, the Voice system is meant to shape the roadmap based on user needs, but it’s also helpful for identifying areas where adjustments may be needed post-update. If there are specific elements that feel disruptive or need improvement, adding them to voice.mainwp.com ensures they’re reviewed and considered.

Also, don’t forget, you can customize most of the Dashboard to your liking using the Custom Dashboard Extension. With that Extension CSS tweaks can be made and even JS tweaks for bigger changes that you want to make for your own custom dashboard.

Dear @dennis, let’s agree to disagree.

But if some of these design changes were made intentionally … look for another designer. One that is proficient in customer experience and satisfaction, at least  (my 2 cents worth and many years of experience)

Yes, let’s agree to disagree, and let’s also keep things professional. Personal attacks aren’t necessary and don’t add to the discussion. This group is here for constructive feedback and solutions, not that kind of negativity.

Dear Dennis.
I’m sorry if that felt like a personal attack on anyone, that was not my intention at all.
