Chrome Extension Can Not Be Set Up

I’ve followed the instructions, but for some reason I keep “Authentication failed! Make sure you entered the correct credentials.” no matter what I am doing.

I have installed the Dashboard Lock per your recommendation and that did not help.

I did have this working before moving my WP install and I have just today decided to add an account here.

Hey @josephbenton

Welcome to the MainWP community!

Dashboard Lock is recommended if you want to use HTTP Basic Auth on the Dashboard site. That’s the extent of the recommendation in this context.

Please try going through the steps outlined in the Troubleshooting section of our help article: MainWP Browser Extensions - MainWP Documentation

Let me know how it goes.

I’ve gone through this, but don’t know how to address certain inconsistencies. For example, I can’t figure out why I don’t have https://josephbenton.com/wp-admin/mainwp/v1/sites/all-sites as an endpoint. This is not addressed in your instructions.

I see that your site is using HTTP Basic Auth. Is that set by Dashboard Lock or via some other method?

Can you try temporarily deactivating and see if that helps?

You can see the endpoints in this URL: https://josephbenton.com/wp-json/

From what I can see, they are present, so that point is fine.

Well, what do I do now?

Please see my previous message.

I temporarily deactivated. It did not help.

Thanks for trying that.
