I am reporting something, but have to add, I don’t have the time now to troubleshoot it.
FluentSMTP plugin had some security issue and update. I think it was a forced update, however not sure how wp-config settings impact this forced update.
I noticed, that I am not seeing it at all in MainWP when I try to update plugins. It’s not showing that version version 2.3 is available to update.
However, when I go to the Manage Plugins screen and search for FluentSMTP on all sites, I can see that many (not all) sites are still on 2.2.95, others obviously did get forced auto update.
I don’t know what the issue is here and why it was not possible to update as usual in MainWP. Something felt off.
I am updating completely manually now on the sites that still run the old version.
Thanks - good to know. I did check PluginsIgnore before. FluentSMTP does not receive many updates, but I definitely updated via MainWP already in the past.
In the end I logged in to all the sites and updated manually, now they are all on the latest version. I just don’t get it that it did not show up on the update screen - not for all sites, not for individual sites.
But obviously it seems to be not a global issue, and I also experienced this for the very first time.
We haven’t received any other reports of this issue.
If you still have any child sites with an outdated FluentSMTP plugin that isn’t showing as an available update in your MainWP Dashboard, please open a private support ticket so we can investigate further.
OK, good to know. I updated it all manually, I can pay attention next time but FluentSMTP updates usually don’t happen that often. I also did not fully understand if this was somehow a forced update or not
