Gravity Forms shows as needing an update when it has already been updated

I found this post from two years ago, but this is happening to me right now on 8 sites (on different hosts, but not on all of my sites with GF).

It’s been this way for at least a week. I keep syncing, but it doesn’t change. Not sure what else to try!

Do you see these available updates on the Updates page of the WP Admin of this child site?

What’s the actual installed version, 2.9.3 or 2.9.4?

2.9.4 is running on the child sites, so no update is showing that needs to be done.

I was able to reproduce your issue.

After updating GF from 2.8.9 to 2.9.4. the Dashboard continues to show an available update:

I have forwarded this to our dev team and will get back to you as soon as I can.

The team has prepared a pre-release version of MainWP Dashboard that addresses this issue.

Hi Bojan,

It also happens at my MainWP installation with Gravity Forms keep saying an update GF 2.9.5 is available for GF 2.9.4 but on all the child sites the newest version has been installed.

Does the pre-release also address the issue for this version or just the version mentioned in this topic?

Also my MainWP shows wrong update info about Gravity SMTP. It shows an empty current version field and keep noticing me about new version 1.8.0. Does this pre-release also addresses this plugin from Gravity Forms?

Thanks for the pre-release and I can confirm after resyncing and take the remaining updates for GF all plugins and also the translations (who also stuck on updates) are cleaned from the update list.

I have the same issue and I have even more:

  1. The Plugins are shown as inactive, but hey are active on the sites!

  2. Have a look to the first 3 plugins, there is only shown that an update is available and the version number but not even what plugin it is.

This should all be Gravity Form Addons,

Version 1.5.0 - Gravity Forms Advanced Post Creation Add-On
Version 4.4.0 - Gravity Forms Zapier Add-On
Version 5.4.0 - Gravity Forms User Registration Add-On

Also this plugins are shown as inactive!

The fix for this was included in the v5.4.0.3 released on 3-24-2025.

I did update to v5.4.0.3, tried in an incognito browser: synch and update. Gravity form still shows to update to v2.9.5. Not sure what else to do…

In that case, your issue may not be related to the originally reported issue.
