Hi, just started using MainWP Pro, giving it a test run before upgrading to a yearly or lifetime license. So far great! Cloning is a little puzzling though since it suggests that it only supports the the legacy backup feature (for larger sites that fail the site to site process), and I can’t seem to find that option. Also I see from some comments that you’re phasing out support for that. Can you point me to the best way forward for this?

You can find information about the Clone from Backup feature and how the Legacy Backups fit into it here:
We currently don’t plan on removing the Legacy Backups from the MainWP Dashboard.
However, we also don’t have plans for adding any new functionality related to it, nor do we have current plans for an equivalent feature.

I’m still missing something though. When I toggle enable legacy backups on in settings and click Save Settings, it reverts to being turned off. Under “Select primary backup system,” the only option is API Backups, whether I’ve saved settings or not. Is that dropdown meant to update to allow legacy backups as an option?
After I enable Legacy Backups and save, the toggle stays on and Native backups becomes the selection in the dropdown menu.
For you, the toggle gets disabled each time you save the settings?

cURL Timeout shouldn’t be a factor here, but I would recommend resolving it as instructed here: Resolving System Requirement Issues - MainWP Documentation
Can you temporarily deactivate the Security Optimizer and Speed Optimizer plugins and try re-saving the settings again with Legacy Backups toggled on?
Thanks - still no luck. I tried deleting both of those plugins completely too, and checked that no server caching was enabled. When the form submits, is the update completely server side, or could any of this be because of browser settings? I’m using Brave, I can try disabling security setting etc. if that could possibly help.

Sure, please try using a different browser, preferably in an Incognito/Private window without any browser extensions loaded.

We’ve identified an issue relating to Legacy backups and API backups, and the fix for it was released in a previous version of the MainWP Dashboard.
