My sites have disconnected. I don’t know why. They have been working fine for years and today they are gone. Example: for completetax123.com I click reconnect and I get the following message:

“MainWP Child plugin not detected or could not be reached!” is usually a sign that a security rule on the child site is blocking the connection from the MainWP Dashboard.

We also have an internal tool that lets us see the response message from the Child site.
If you wish, you can open a support ticket and grant us temporary WP Admin access to your Dashboard and we will take a look at that response from the child sites.
Usually, it helps identify which security rule is blocking the connection.
I’ve just tested the connection from my dashboard and although it was slow, it did succeed, so it looks like the IP of your dashboard is blocked by the server of this site.
I have full control of the target site, and they are using Wordfence as a firewall. I don’t see any blocks, but I may not be looking at the right place. Do you have any idea where I should be looking?
You can try these general steps to help you identify what is blocking the connection:
1/
Temporarily disable all security plugins on the child site.
2/
Review the .htaccess file for leftover security rules from previously deactivated plugins or custom security rules.
3/
If using Cloudflare, Sucuri, WebARX, or similar, temporarily disable it or whitelist your MainWP Dashboard IP.
4/
If the above steps don’t help, contact your host support and have them review firewall logs around the time you tried to connect. They can whitelist your Dashboard IP or adjust the triggered WAF rule.
Additionally, you can open a support ticket and grant us temporary WP Admin access to your Dashboard and we will take a look at that response from the child sites.
