I am trying to update a post (custom-post-type) from main site to one of the the child site. however, instead of updating it creates new post.
I am using wordpress dashboard post edit to update. My both child and parent sites has exact same database and theme but different cpanel accounts.

CPT post must be edited through the MainWP > Posts > Manage Posts page as explained in this help document: Edit a CPT Post - MainWP Documentation
Please keep in mind that you need to have Classic Editor installed on both MainWP Dashboard and the CHild site and that you need to register Custom Post Types on Your MainWP Dashboard Site before editing the post.
