Server requirements for a lot of updates

Hi,
I am using ManageWP for my site updates. Until recently this was fine, but now I have a lot more sites to update, and I get resource spikes from my hosting because now it is udating hundreds of plugins at the same time.

I was wondering how MainWP handles this. I can not immagine that I am the onlyone with this issue.
Can anyone help me figure out a good way to update hundreds of plugins without setting all the sites in mainenance mode for half a day?

The high load doesn’t come from MainWP (or ManageWP), but from all the sites that are installing the updates at the same time. MainWP has options to limit the number of sites on the same IP address that will perform the update. Depending on the load you can tweak that to find the optimal settings for your server.

Hi Jos, I know that this is not a MainWP or ManageWP thing, but I am looking for a solution. Can I see a demo or something for the setting you mention?

It’s described here in the documentation: MainWP Dashboard Settings - MainWP WordPress Management

And this is a screenshot (in Dutch) from my dashboard (326 sites managed and 178 sites hosted on the same server as my dashboard):
