Site Changes and Cache Extension Issues

Site Changes (since most recent update)

Since the update, the one thing I have noticed is that the site changes widget does not display any information. I cannot see any non-MainWP changes, and on the insights page, all management statistics appear empty.

Cache Extension (current and previous releases)

Another issue I have experienced for quite some time is that the Cache Extension does not appear to function at all. I do not want it to automatically clear the cache, so it is worth noting that both options in the settings are disabled. However, I do want to be able to manually clear the cache on a per-site or bulk basis.

It recognizes the appropriate caching solution for each site, and when I manually clear the cache, it goes through the process and states, “Process completed successfully!” However, in the cache control log, it always states “never purged,” and no changes occur on the website. I have experienced this issue with both Nginx Helper and Litespeed Cache.

I have already used the debug tool on Litespeed Cache, and literally nothing happens on the website when I clear the cache via the MainWP dashboard.

Hey @yoelanshel

Welcome to the MainWP community

We’ve released v5.4.0.2 today that addresses this issue. Prior to this version, the widget was displaying only the changes made during the current day.

I am unable to reproduce this issue.
The Control Log does get updated when I manually clear the cache:

Hi Bojan,

I see the updated version. I just updated my dashboard and all the child sites. Thanks!

With regards to the cache extension. I am using Gridpane and generally for all of my sites I have the following settings enabled for the dashboard and all child sites. I also use the 7G Firewall and WpFail2Ban. Do you see any reason to believe that one of these settings could cause any issues with the cache clearing extension. I will try to troubleshoot it myself but I might have to reach out with a ticket if necessary.

I don’t believe they should be impacting Cache Clearing so narrowly. In other words, I think you would see some other connectivity issues and not just this.

Sounds good. Don’t hesitate to open a ticket should you not find a solution.

I was looking into it a bit yesterday evening and I noticed that on my Dashboard in the Cache Control Log it recognizes all the sites and the cache type but it says “disabled”. I always thought that was because I don’t have the setting enabled for automatic cache clearing. I enabled it for one site to test but there was no change.

What exactly is the enabled/disabled option referring to?

Refers to whether caching is actually enabled on that site.

A caching plugin can be installed and active, but the caching does not necessarily need to be enabled in the caching plugin settings.

That makes sense. Do you know of any issues that would cause this to misreport the status?

I am using the LS Cache plugin and both page & object caching are enabled and working as expected. I am also using Cloudflare and have the API added to the LS cache plugin. Though until I can get the Cache control extension working with just the main caching solution i am not going to add the Cloudflare API.

Not that I am aware.

We haven’t had previous reports of caching being incorrectly reported as disabled.

Don’t hesitate to open a ticket and we will gladly take a closer look.
