Undefined array key "id" warnings caused by two extensions

This has been an issue for several months, but I am just now getting around to reporting it. I searched the forums and do not see any other reports, so this may be a unique situation.

I see the following warning message at the top of the MainWP Dashboard Overview page (and on that page only):

Warning: Undefined array key “id” in …/public_html/wp-content/plugins/mainwp/pages/page-mainwp-overview.php on line 256

When I have all of my extensions activated, there are four of these warnings. I have traced them (two warnings each) to the MainWP Buddy Extension and MainWP Page Speed Extension – when deactivated, there are no warnings; when one is active, there are two warnings.

These do not necessarily affect any functionality (at least that I have noticed), but they are annoying and I can’t figure out why they appear and what can be done to fix them.

Any suggestions?

I couldn’t reproduce this issue with Buddy and Page Speed extensions.

Can you please post the community system report from your MainWP Dashboard for review? The report is located in your Dashboard under Info → Server, on the top right of the page.

Be sure to use the button like the one below; this button hides all your private information:

Please update both the API Backups extension and Page Speed Extension, because you are still using the 4.x versions instead of 5.0.

@josklever Thanks for the reply.

The MainWP API Backups Extension is inactive, and will not activate (I believe this is because the Buddy extension is active?).

UPDATE: The API beta extension will not activate even if the Buddy extension is inactive.

My dashboard is running v5.0 of the MainWP Buddy Extension. No updates are available either via the regular WP “Check updates” feature nor the extension’s “Check for updates now”: link on the plugins page.

While I am running v4.0.3 of the MainWP Page Speed Extension, the same lack of updates applies to this extension, as well.

Both plugins show that the license key is active.

Thanks for the update.

API Backups extension can be deleted because it has become a core feature of MainWP Dashboard since version 5.

It is designed to automatically deactivate should you try to activate it while running MainWP Dashboard v5 or above.

And Page Speed has been retired some time ago so we also recommend to delete it and migrate to Lighthouse extension.
Page Speed will not be receiving any more updates.

Your Buddy extension is up to date, but I wasn’t able to reproduce this Warning message on our test Dashboards.

Would you mind opening a private Help Desk ticket so we can collect some additional information & investigate further?

And please refer to this Managers thread by its URL in the ticket.

I see my reaction wasn’t very helpful, though posted with the best intentions.

@bojan Both extensions I mentioned have a 5.0 version according to their changelogs. If that’s not correct, please edit the changelogs and mention the conditions of the deprecation.

Just to provide an update on this -

We have fixed the PHP Warning issue produced by the Buddy extension.

It will be included in the next release of the extension.
