Updraft is always going back to basic version

I’m using Updraftplus premium on all of Wordpress instances to get incremental backups and the notification for failed backups. I’ve set everything up and it works correctly, but from time to time it looses the information that I have premium access and than incremental backups are disabled and I receive mails for every backup what is created. I’m not able to centralize get the premium status back and have to log in on every page to activate the domain.

I guess that shouldn’t be the way it should work, right?

Do you have any idea how to fix that? Thanks!

Hey @_dominik

Welcome to the MainWP community!

Could you clarify where the premium status is being lost? Does the “Use premium version” option become disabled in the MainWP UpdraftPlus Backups Add-on, or does UpdraftPlus Premium become deactivated on the child sites themselves?

MainWP does not automatically resend these settings, so even if the changes were to be lost in the Add-on, it would not affect the child sites unless the settings were manually saved and applied.

If UpdraftPlus Premium is losing its activation directly on the child sites, UpdraftPlus Support would need to investigate that.

I have connected all pages via MainWP with my updraftplus account and the option “Use premium version” is also activated but on the child sites itself it’s not activated.

I’ve already activated every child site manually a few weeks ago and everything worked. I don’t received status mails because all backups were successful and now I get spammed every morning because the option “Send a report only when there are warnings/errors” is a premium function..

I have the feeling that it happend because of an update. So it’s not possible to control that via MainWP and I have to contact updraftplus?

Thanks for the update.

The add-on can reconnect the child sites centrally. In the MainWP UpdraftPlus Add-on, click Connect again, then save the settings to reapply the reporting option.

However, MainWP add-on does not automatically disconnect or periodically reactivate UpdraftPlus Premium.

If the child sites become disconnected again after initially working, possibly following an UpdraftPlus update, UpdraftPlus Support would need to investigate why the activation is not being retained.

After clicking on Connect I get the feedback that every connection is set up successful. The reapplication of settings was successfull aswell but the result on the child page is that the sites are not assigned. see image below.

I guess when I asked the Updraftplus support, they will respond that it’s working on a single page and the mass changes are not part of the plugin.

Thanks for the screenshot.

We checked this further and confirmed that the MainWP UpdraftPlus Add-on reports the connection as successful after saving the account details, but it does not complete the separate purchase assignment and Premium activation/update step on the child site.

We’ll look into improving this step in an upcoming version of UpdraftPlus add-on.

For now, that remaining step must be completed on the affected child sites, after which you can reapply the relevant settings through MainWP.
