MainWP Dashboard cannot update child site plugins

We seem to be unable to install a plugin after successfully uploading via the MainWP dashboard to A site, or multiple sites. The Rest API option is enabled, as far as we can tell, on both the dashboard site AND the child site(s)… but the install fails.

This is the message in MainWP dashboard right now.

Is there a setting we’re missing to make this work?

TIA…

Hey @sharedhealthweb

Welcome to the MainWP community.

MainWP Dashboard does not use REST API when the plugins are being installed via the UI, so the message is unrelated.

If you want to check why the REST API is not working, please refer to this help document: WordPress REST API does not respond - MainWP Knowledgebase

As for the issue of installing plugins - can you please describe the steps you are taking to install the plugins on site A and/or on multiple sites, and on which step do you encounter an issue?

Bojan…

We’re trying to use MainWP to push a plugin update to selected websites that already have the child plugin running and connected. We’re using the process shown on the link below… and we’ve tried the same process with any plugin ZIP file without success.

https://community.mainwp.com/t/restore-acf-original-plugin-replaced-by-scf-without-your-consent-in-a-few-minutes-with-mainwp/9508

We can select the websites… we’re able to select the plugin ZIP file and upload it to MainWP (confirmed by watching the upload folder)… but when we hit the “Complete Installation” button the install fails on each selected website.

No error message displays to tell us what the issue is so I’m not sure what else I can tell you?

Thanks for the update.

Do you see a red X icon on the popup modal during installation?
Can you please try hovering the mouse cursor over it to reveal a tooltip?
